Behind him stands the full moon. A black panther lies on a broad branch, head raised, eyes in cadmium yellow. Brilliant blue and quinacridone magenta settle over shoulders and paws, yellow outlines back and ears.
From the branch, the colours fall in long threads into the grey. Trees and foliage remain black and white, cool in the moonlight.
Strength may rest. He stays lying down, and yet his gaze reaches all the way to you.
