Bottles like towers. Two of them rise in turquoise into a pale blue sky; in front stands a cocktail glass with three green olives on a skewer. At the top left, a black street sign in white capitals – the address of big money.

Behind the bottles, two legs in red heels; below them, stacks of banknotes with paper bands, everything drawn with a black outline as in a comic.

An early work, years before the palette of brilliant blue, magenta and cadmium yellow – and already on the big theme: wealth that celebrates itself. How much is enough? The painting asks with a wink.

Opulenza is in a private collection. Glamour, money, pleasure: the same theme can be created anew as a commission – to your dimensions.
