Turquoise to every edge. From above, the eye falls on a woman lying in a white net above the water. She has raised her arms above her head, her knees slightly bent, her head tilted back.
The net is stretched between grey planks and gives gently beneath her; through the mesh the water shimmers lighter. Further up, sunlight dissolves into broad, bright patches on the surface.
When did you last do nothing – and enjoy it? Il dolce far niente – the sweetness of doing nothing. Here it becomes a painting, held by a few ropes above the depths.
The original painting is now part of a private collection. Water, light, a person at rest: for the stillness after a long day, a painting like this can be requested as commissioned art.
